Where to find poly people
Science Fiction Conventions: Orycon often hosts a poly panel and sometimes a room party. Norwescon often hosts several poly panels.
The Society for Creative Anachronism seems to have an overlap with polydom. So do some branches of paganism, in particular a lot of people have found poly circles through the Church of All Worlds.
Oregon Country Fair (weekend after July 4th, Veneta, OR) usually has an unannounced gathering of polyfolk. So does the Rainbow Gathering.
Network for a New Culture encourages a sustainable community lifestyle and runs an annual campout and workshops locally. See http://www.newculture.org/
Bisexuality discussion groups often have some overlap with polyamory (careful! Only some bisexual people are poly!).
Swingers and poly overlap to some degree (although the perspectives are often, and sometimes very, different). Local places to find swingers are Portland’s Ace of Hearts and Seattle’s New Horizons club.
Willamette Week, Portland’s liberal weekly newspaper, runs occasional announcements of poly discussion circles, as well as polyamory personals.
